Kansas City Chiefs Suffer Key Injuries Ahead of Week 2 Matchup

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Cooper McDonald has suffered a knee injury and will miss at least four weeks on injured reserve, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. The team made the announcement during their press conference on Wednesday. McDonald played in all 17 games as a rookie last season, earning one start and logging significant snaps on special teams.

Meanwhile, cornerback Mansoor Delane has returned to practice just two days after leaving Monday night's game against the Broncos with an injury to his shoulder. Coach Andy Reid confirmed that Delane will practice today and there is a reasonable chance he'll play against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

The Chiefs' rookie class showed promise in their first game, with second-round edge-rusher R Mason Thomas logging a sack in his debut. However, Simmons, another key player, remains sidelined with a back injury.
