Kilkenny Braces for Super Car Invasion on Sunday

Kilkenny City is bracing for traffic restrictions on Sunday as the Cannonball 2026 event brings around 200 supercars to the city. The vehicles will complete a 1,000km route around Ireland, raising funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland.

The event will finish in Kilkenny City, with participating vehicles expected to arrive from approximately 5:15pm. To facilitate the event, Castle Road adjacent to the Parade Plaza will be closed to vehicular traffic from 2pm until 8pm.

Around 200 supercars are set to arrive in Kilkenny City on Sunday as part of the Cannonball 2026 event. The route into the city will travel via Cillin Hill, Dublin Road, John Street, Rose Inn Street and Castle Road. Alternative routes will be available via Nuncio Road, Waterford Road and Patrick Street.
