Kirkland Toilet Paper Prices Soar 51% as Shrinkflation Takes Hold at Costco

Costco's popular Kirkland Signature toilet paper has seen a significant price hike over the past five years. According to data from Frugal Hotspot, a 30-pack of the product cost $16.49 in 2021, but now sells for $24.99 on Costco's website, representing a ~51% increase.

The reason behind this price surge lies in the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, leading to a trade war with Canada, where the toilet paper is sourced and produced. As a result, many products have seen their prices rise, including Procter & Gamble's Charmin Ultra Soft Bath Tissue, which now costs $34.99 at Costco.

What's more, shoppers are getting less for their money than they did in 2021, as each roll of Kirkland toilet paper has shrunk from 425 sheets to 380 sheets, a decrease of 10%. This phenomenon is known as shrinkflation.
