Kitchen Redo on a Shoestring: Lyric and Chantelle's Colorful Makeover
Casa Garnish's Lyric and Chantelle wanted to give their kitchen a makeover that would reflect their personalities. They drew inspiration from Dakota Johnson's green-drenched kitchen, and aimed to create a space that felt warm and inviting.
To achieve this, they started by painting the cabinets with Sherwin-Williams' 'Garden Spot' and the walls with Behr's 'Fresh Artichoke'. The warmth didn't just come from the paint, they also used butcher block contact paper to add a cozy touch. This hack not only transformed the space but also complemented their favorite colors, green and pink.
The couple added a pop of color by covering their all-white fridge with pink cow print decals, inspired by a quote from Real Housewives of Atlanta's Nene Leakes: 'Oh, not a white refrigerator.' The new cabinet knobs in bright orange completed the vibrant look.
The $180 makeover took only two days to complete and was a lifesaver for Lyric and Chantelle. They love how much bigger it feels and how warm it is now, it's perfect for cooking and hosting. 'It almost feels like a set you'd see on a cooking show,' they said.
