Lululemon Cracks Down on Platinum Card Gift Card Loopholes

American Express Platinum cardholders have been using Lululemon gift cards to maximize their quarterly $75 credit benefit. However, new terms and in-store restrictions are making it increasingly difficult for them to do so.

Recently, the Lululemon website added a clause stating that 'you may not use multiple forms of payment to purchase a Gift Card.' Additionally, many stores have been only allowing gift card purchases in $50 increments, as opposed to the previous $75 denomination.

This change is particularly frustrating for those who had found ways to work around these restrictions. For example, some shoppers were able to buy $150 worth of gift cards and split the payment between two Platinum cards. However, it seems that this loophole has been closed, leaving cardholders with limited options.

While it may still be possible to find stores willing to sell $75 or $100 gift cards, the process is likely to become more complicated and time-consuming for those trying to maximize their credit benefits.
