Lynda Tabuya: Bullying Has No Place in Fijian Schools

At the opening of this year's Coca-Cola Games in Suva, Fijian Minister for Information, Environment and Climate Change Lynda Tabuya emphasized that bullying has no place in Fiji's schools. Speaking to athletes, students, teachers, and supporters, she highlighted the growing issue of bullying among students, particularly on social media.

Tabuya noted that there are increasing reports of students pulling each other down instead of lifting one another up, especially online. She linked her message to Thursday's 'In Black' campaign, which aims to raise awareness about violence against women and children.

The Minister stressed that sports should promote unity, respect, and encouragement, not division or harm. As President of the Kadavu Rugby Union, Tabuya has witnessed firsthand how sport can foster friendships and unite communities, but also comes with responsibility.
