A 23-year-old man was arrested in Macon, Georgia on July 31, 2026 for a string of thefts at four businesses. Kenyon Malik Clayton was taken into custody after deputies identified him as a suspect and began observing his movements near Bloomfield Road. When approached by authorities, Clayton fled on foot and attempted to hide in a nearby Krystal's restaurant bathroom.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office (BSO) worked with US Marshals and Kroger management to connect Clayton to the thefts at Northern Tool and Equipment, Kroger, Hibbett Sports, and Home Depot. The BSO confirmed that surveillance footage from June showed a man stealing a nearly $400 Ryobi 40V HP trimmer and blower set from the same Home Depot, but could not confirm if this was part of the string of thefts.

Clayton faces charges for two counts of felony theft by shoplifting, one misdemeanor count of theft by shoplifting, and one count of burglary in the second degree. He is being held without bond as the investigation remains ongoing with more charges pending.
