Marvell, Microsoft, and Utimaco Unveil Cloud-Scale Payment Security Platform
Azure Payment HSM v2 is a new secure payments technology launched by Microsoft, Marvell, and Utimaco. This platform is designed for financial institutions and payment service providers to secure critical payment workloads and transactions.
The offering combines Marvell's LiquidSecurity hardware security module (HSM) technology, Utimaco's Atalla Payments Module, and Microsoft Azure. It provides a cloud-native payment security platform through Microsoft Azure, enabling financial institutions and payment providers to secure payment transactions and protect sensitive payment assets.
Cary Ussery, senior vice president and general manager at Marvell, said that the partnership addresses the growing demand for cloud-scale payment services. Soumya Subramanian, vice president of Cloud Security Engineering at Microsoft, added that the solution removes the operational burden of managing payment-specific HSMs.
Utimaco's CEO, Stefan Auerbach, stated that their Atalla Payments Module is positioned in Microsoft's multi-vendor HSM infrastructure provided by Marvell. This is an industry first, providing excellent performance and maximum security to Microsoft and its payment customers.
