McDonald's Plays Catch-Up with $8.5 Billion Revamp Plan
McDonald's has announced an $8.5 billion spending plan to revamp its restaurants over the next decade, including remodeled play areas and improved dining rooms.
The fast-food chain aims to bring back colorful PlayPlaces, which were closed in March 2020 due to the pandemic but have been missed by customers.
According to Jill McDonald, executive vice president, the investment will also include technology upgrades and operational improvements. The company expects restaurant expansion to contribute around 2% of systemwide sales growth by 2030.
