MCDonald's Shares Slide 4% After Investor Day Update
McDonald's shares have dropped by 4% following its investor day update where management outlined its long-term NEXT strategy and new targets for 2030.
The plan includes margin expansion and market-share goals, but investors may be reacting to the heavy franchisee support and remodel spending tied to the rollout, as well as limited evidence of an immediate fix for softer U.S. demand.
McDonald's has outlined its NEXT strategy with targets for share gains in chicken and beverages, along with an operating margin in the low-to-mid 50% range by 2030.
The company also highlighted a broad restaurant efficiency push, with roughly 250 basis points of gross restaurant-level efficiency gains targeted over time.
