McDonald's Slumps 4% After $8.5B Franchisee Support Pledge
McDonald's shares plummeted 4% on Wednesday morning after the company revealed an $8.5 billion commitment to support its franchisees through 2036 at its Investor Day event.
The funding will be used for a combination of rent relief and capital support, with a focus on modernizing restaurant design and simplifying operations using ArchIQ, a generative AI system.
