MeiraGTx Holdings plc has caught the attention of Goldman Sachs, which initiated coverage on the clinical-stage gene therapy company with a neutral rating and price target of $16.00.

The firm sees upside potential from the current stock price of $11.75, despite shares declining nearly 10% over the past week.

MeiraGTx's lead asset bota-vec targets X-linked retinitis pigmentosa, while its Lilly-partnered AAV-AIPL1 addresses LCA4 congenital blindness, with regulatory packages being compiled for both programs.

GOLDMAN SACHS stated that the company's AAV2-hAQP1 program for radiation-induced xerostomia is expected to deliver Phase 2 AQUAx2 data in the second quarter of 2027.
