On Friday, police in Jericho recovered a stash of illicit items from the parking lot of Home Depot on Jericho Turnpike. The discovery was made by officers on routine patrol who saw three men unloading a large wooden crate and transferring multiple rifles into their vehicles.

The investigation revealed that the men had thousands of rounds of ammunition, three machetes, knives, and suspected cocaine in their possession. Additionally, a forged Social Security card was found among the seized items.

Police arrested all three men, but two of them were later turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after it was determined that they had entered the country illegally.

The two suspects who were transferred to ICE custody are facing removal proceedings. The third suspect, Gilberto Rivera Lopez, is charged with six counts of failure to safely store firearms and other crimes related to the seized items.
