Merck Expands Bengaluru Manufacturing Site with €13 Million Investment
German drugmaker Merck KGaA is investing €13 million to expand its flagship drug manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, India.
The expansion will add biological buffer manufacturing capabilities to service various contracts from R&D and scale-up to commercial production.
Located on a 10-acre land parcel, the facility has been operational since 2003 and houses capabilities in specialty, fine chemicals, custom synthesis, and catalogue product manufacturing.
Md Dhananjay Singh of Merck's Life Science business said India is emerging as an important hub for life science manufacturing, with this investment aimed at strengthening regional manufacturing and expanding biology and chemistry capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region.
