Merck Foundation Celebrates World Heart Day with Expanded Diabetes & Hypertension Program

Merk Foundation, a German not-for-profit organization, celebrated 'World Heart Day' by expanding its Nationwide Diabetes & Hypertension Blue Points Program in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

The program focuses on building cardiovascular and diabetes care capacity, providing scholarships for healthcare providers from underserved communities.

Since the initiative began, Merck Foundation has awarded over 2,750 scholarships to healthcare professionals from 52 countries in 44 critical medical specialties.

Dr. Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation, emphasized the importance of empowering local healthcare experts to provide specialized care and raise awareness about prevention and early detection of hypertension and diabetes.
