Merck's 'Hive' Initiative Aims to Support People Living with HIV

Pharmaceutical company Merck has launched 'Your Hive of Whole Health,' a multiyear educational program aimed at helping people living with HIV build personalized networks of support that address physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.

The initiative was unveiled at the 2026 U.S. Conference on HIV/AIDS in Anaheim, California, where Merck emphasized the need for a broader focus on whole-person health.

Inspired by the structure and collaboration of hives, the program encourages people living with HIV to identify and nurture their own 'Hive', a personal care circle that may include healthcare providers, community advocates, family members, and peers.

Merck said this kind of support can be especially important for people aging with HIV, including those managing co-occurring health conditions or other life challenges.
