Meta Aims for $3 Trillion Club with Aggressive AI Push
The exclusive $3 trillion club consists of just four public companies in the US, but Meta Platforms may soon join their ranks. The company's aggressive investments in artificial intelligence (AI) products, such as its personalized AI agent Muse, could propel it to this milestone within a couple of years.
Muse allows users to perform tasks outside of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and can even integrate with third-party apps and make payments. This agent gives Meta an opportunity to capture a bigger share of global internet traffic and compete with entrenched platforms like Google Search.
However, the development of AI models is expensive, with Meta's data center spending expected to double to $145 billion in 2026. While this could negatively impact earnings in future years, Wall Street forecasts suggest Meta can still grow its revenue by 20% and reach a market capitalization of $3 trillion within a couple of years.
