MetaMask Simplifies Wallet Creation with Social Login Feature

MetaMask has rolled out an update that simplifies wallet creation and restoration for new crypto users. The browser extension, version 13.0.0 and above, now offers a social login feature powered by Web3Auth. This allows users to create and restore wallets using their Google or Apple accounts.

This eliminates the need to manage a 12-word seed phrase, which has been a barrier for newcomers. The new feature is designed to be more user-friendly while maintaining the wallet's self-custodial nature.

Users can authenticate with familiar login credentials and a unique password to access their assets across devices. MetaMask emphasizes that users can maintain both authentication methods, keeping the traditional recovery phrase alongside social login functionality for added security.
