Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Sellout Slows Down Due to Thanksgiving Week
The Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Walt Disney World has hit a snag. The first date to sell out, November 24th, was not opening night as it usually is. This year's sellout occurred on September 28th, which is 18 days behind last year's pace and 25 days behind the year before.
This development marks a departure from previous years, where the first date to sell out was always opening night. In 2024, opening night sold out on September 3rd, while in 2025 it occurred on September 10th.
The reason for this change in sales pattern may be due to the fact that November 24th falls during Thanksgiving week, a time when many people are already at Walt Disney World. As a result, the party is competing with regular nights at the resort rather than being the main draw.
Additionally, the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has not changed much in terms of its offerings, which includes Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration, Frozen Holiday Surprise, and seasonal entertainment. While these events are certainly enjoyable, they may not be enough to justify the $204 price tag for some guests.
It's worth noting that the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party sold out its entire 2026 season before the Christmas party managed to sell out one single night. This suggests that the issue lies specifically with the Christmas party and not with ticketed events in general.
