Micron Poised to Capitalize on Nvidia's Memory Warning
Nvidia's warning about memory prices and supply has sent shockwaves through the market. The company is budgeting to spend $279 billion on memory through 2032, with a significant portion of that spend due in the next few years.
Micron Technology and Sandisk are top suppliers of high-bandwidth memory, DRAM, NAND, and enterprise solid-state drives. Micron is well-positioned to capture infrastructure spend from hyperscalers given its place in AI chip stacks.
Nvidia's warning implies that memory scarcity will be a bottleneck for the development of AI systems. The company did not write a quarter-trillion-dollar check because SSDs are hard to find, but rather because memory scarcity is the governing factor.
Micron's position as a top-tier DRAM vendor and one of only three HBM suppliers makes it better positioned to benefit from Nvidia's $279 billion memory budget. The company's forward price-to-earnings ratio hovers around 6, which is modest relative to other category-leading chip stocks.
