The Microsoft 365 migration deadline is looming for managed service providers (MSPs), and delaying preparation can lead to significant risks. The retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online will occur in stages, with the first phase beginning in October 2026 and full retirement scheduled for April 2027.

MSPs that use existing tools may assume they will continue to work, but this assumption can become expensive when tested during an active project. A migration tied to a merger or cloud modernization initiative often operates on fixed timelines, leaving little room to delay the cutover or redesign the process.
