Microsoft Advertising Enhances B2B Targeting with HubSpot Integration and LinkedIn Lists
Microsoft Advertising has unveiled several new features in its October product newsletter, with a particular focus on enhancing targeting capabilities for business-to-business (B2B) advertisers. The most notable addition is the integration with HubSpot, allowing advertisers to sync CRM lifecycle events directly into Microsoft's bidding systems. This integration enables advertisers to track and optimize for higher-quality conversions, such as marketing-qualified and sales-qualified leads (MQLs and SQLs). Additionally, the integration provides a shared dashboard for comparing channel performance without switching tabs.
Another significant update is the introduction of bulk uploads for LinkedIn company targeting. Advertisers can now upload lists of up to 10,000 companies for targeting or exclusion, streamlining the process significantly. The feature also allows for more flexible targeting logic, functioning as 'or' statements with other LinkedIn targeting options and 'and' statements with devices, locations, or content targeting.
The newsletter also touches on other updates, including impression-based remarketing (IBR), which allows advertisers to target, exclude, or adjust bids for audiences who have already seen an ad. The feature offers flexibility in setting the duration audiences remain on an IBR list, with a default of seven days. Additionally, the newsletter provides guidance on AI-generated advertising content and a product-catalog checklist aimed at AI shopping tools.
The October edition of the newsletter has seen a modest increase in subscribers and followers, adding 699 subscribers and 584 followers since the September edition. However, engagement metrics such as reactions and comments remain low, with the October post showing only one reaction and no comments at the time of capture.
