Microsoft, Amazon, TSMC Poised to Join Exclusive $4 Trillion Club
The exclusive $4 trillion market capitalization club may soon welcome new members. Microsoft, Amazon, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) are poised to join Nvidia, Apple, and Alphabet as the only companies with a valuation of over $4 trillion by 2028.
Microsoft is currently valued at $3.6 trillion and could reclaim its previous high of $4.38 trillion if its valuation returns to historical norms. The company's forward price-to-earnings ratio has decreased from 30 times earnings in prior periods to 24 times earnings today, leaving room for a potential 23% gain.
Amazon, with a current market value of $2.8 trillion, could also join the club by 2027 if its valuation recovers to 30 times forward earnings. The company's diversified business model and strong earnings trajectory provide multiple levers for growth that could support a higher valuation.
TSMC, currently valued at $2.2 trillion, needs to achieve a compound annual growth rate of approximately 28% to reach the $4 trillion milestone by 2028. The company is reasonably valued and maintains stable profit margins, positioning it well to exceed this required growth rate.
