Microsoft Caps Cloud Gaming at Xbox Game Pass Tiers
Microsoft is imposing monthly hour limits on its Xbox Game Pass cloud streaming service starting in November.
The change affects all tiers of the service, with Ultimate subscribers limited to 15 hours per month, Premium subscribers to 10 hours, and Essential subscribers to 5 hours.
According to Microsoft, the cost of providing cloud gaming grows as more people use it and play for longer, necessitating this move to maintain investment in reliability and performance.
The change will impact about 4% of Game Pass subscribers, with those exceeding their monthly limits able to purchase additional streaming hours through the Xbox Store.
