Microsoft Defender Notification Bug Causes Frenzy Among Windows Users
Microsoft's Defender Antivirus has been plagued by a notification bug that claims it's been deactivated when it hasn't. This issue affects users of Windows 11 and Windows 10, with Microsoft confirming that notifications may appear stating that 'Microsoft Defender Antivirus is turned off,' even though the antivirus is functioning correctly.
The problem can persist even if notification settings are turned off, causing unnecessary anxiety for affected users. According to Microsoft, this issue affects any version of Windows or Windows Server with Microsoft Defender Antivirus running with the latest updates.
Microsoft has a list of affected operating systems, which includes versions 26H1, 25H2, and 24H2 of Windows 11, as well as Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2016. The company is currently working on a fix, but there's no word yet on when this will be available.
