Microsoft Edges Up Browser Development Tools

Microsoft has rolled out an update to its Edge browser that includes several new tools and features aimed at web developers. One of the key highlights is the addition of accessibility enhancements for web components, including a new OpaqueRange API that provides live access to ranges of text within form inputs.

The update also includes improvements to network debugging tools, such as Resend and Edit and Resend requests, which allow developers to resend or modify requests. Additionally, WebMCP (Web Machine Learning Community Group) has been integrated into Edge, enabling the creation of efficient human-agent collaboration workflows for websites.

Other features include media pseudo-classes, which enable developers to style media elements based on their playback state, and textStream(), a new function available on Response, Request, and Body objects. The update also includes browser-provided buttons for camera and microphone streams.
