Microsoft Gives Low-End Surfaces a Boost with Snapdragon X2 Plus Upgrade

Microsoft has finally updated its low-end computers, the 13-inch Surface Laptop and 12-inch Surface Pro. Both systems will now feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus processor, which includes an 80 TOPS NPU, an upgrade from the first-gen Snapdragon X Plus.

The new devices were announced on Microsoft's blog in conjunction with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit. The upgraded laptops are set to launch on October 13, with a starting price of $1,199 for the Surface Laptop and $1,149 for the Surface Pro.

These prices represent significant increases over the previous versions, which started at $899 and $799 when they launched.
