Microsoft Halts Update Rollout Amid Office Deactivation Concerns
Microsoft has temporarily halted the rollout of its KB5002907 update due to reports that it was causing issues for users of Microsoft Office. The company announced the pause in an update to the release notes, stating that it is investigating complaints from users who found their copies of Office 2016 or Office 2019 became deactivated and non-functional after installing the update.
The KB5002907 update was intended to address issues with devices not receiving updates to Microsoft 365 Apps. However, some devices were left without functioning versions of Microsoft 365 Apps or Office as a result of the update. To prevent further issues, Microsoft has paused the rollout of the update.
For those affected by the issue, Microsoft advises users to reactivate their purchased product using the 'Activate Office for Windows' link or reinstall Office if it was removed.
