Microsoft Listens: Windows 11 Gets Customization Options After User Feedback

Microsoft has confirmed it will add more customization options to Windows 11 following feedback from users. The company announced at IFA 2026 that it would make Windows 11 boot faster and reduce its memory footprint, allowing PCs with 8GB of RAM to run smoothly again.

The movable taskbar and resizable Start menu are just the beginning of new features coming to Windows 11. Users will be able to move the taskbar to any position on the screen, not just the bottom, and resize the Start menu to their preference.

Microsoft's decision to add these features comes after years of criticism from users who felt that Windows 11 was too restrictive compared to its predecessor, Windows 10. Some critics have noted that Windows 10 handled certain features, such as taskbar customization, better than Windows 11.
