Microsoft Outshines TCS in Workplace Culture, Says Former Employee
A Bangalore-based tech professional has sparked interest online with his social media post comparing his work experiences at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Microsoft. Sailesh Gurung, who started his career as a fresher at TCS, described the company's corporate culture as straightforward: log in, follow process, log out.
However, this outlook changed significantly after he moved to Microsoft. One of the most noticeable shifts was in organisational structure, where Gurung said the environment feels flat and allows employees to reach out across teams directly without going through several tiers of management.
The difference in dress code and workplace culture is another notable aspect according to Gurung. While TCS required formal attire on most days with a more relaxed dress code only on Fridays, Microsoft's expectation is simply to be presentable, allowing employees to dress as they choose.
