Microsoft Quietly Scrubs 32GB Memory Recommendations from Support Pages

Microsoft has been making efforts to optimize Windows 11 for systems with less memory. In recent weeks, the company has removed mentions of its previous 32GB recommendation from support pages. The change comes as Microsoft works towards getting its OS running smoothly on systems with only 8GB of RAM.

Last week, Microsoft announced that it was working to optimize Windows 11 for 8GB systems, which is still double the minimum requirement. Pavan Davuluri, Windows Chief, stated that multiple teams are working together to reduce the memory footprint.

Microsoft's efforts to remove mentions of 32GB recommendations from support pages began with a post in May, which was previously covered by Windows Latest. Another post from last November has also been removed. The timing of these changes coincides with Microsoft launching its latest Surface devices featuring only 8GB.
