Microsoft Reaffirms Commitment to Xbox Cloud Gaming Amid Rumors

Microsoft is doubling down on its Xbox Cloud Gaming strategy despite recent reports suggesting the opposite. According to sources, the company will not be shutting down the service as initially feared.

The discontinuation of the Xbox app on certain Samsung televisions stems from outdated technology rather than a decrease in investment. Starting November 3, the Xbox app will no longer function on 2020 Samsung television models due to compatibility issues with newer service technologies.

These new technologies require modern Chromium APIs for features like improved image quality and reduced latency. The older operating system version used in these televisions no longer receives Tizen updates, making it incompatible with the updated Xbox Cloud Gaming service.

Contrary to reports claiming that new controllers for Xbox Cloud Gaming have been canceled, Microsoft continues to develop devices designed to reduce latency during cloud gaming sessions.
