Microsoft has released an out-of-band Windows update to fix issues caused by its September security patch. The update addresses problems affecting Remote Desktop, Hyper-V Linux workloads, and some USB audio devices.

The September security patch had broken Remote Desktop Services, causing them to stop responding, shared Windows folders to disappear from some Hyper-V-based Linux environments, and USB Audio Class 1.0 devices to fail in multichannel modes.

The update is available for various Windows versions, including Windows 11 26H1, 25H2, and 24H2. For Windows Server and supported Windows 10 editions, Microsoft has released corresponding fixes.
