Goldman Sachs Raises Record-Breaking $11.7 Billion for Private Equity Fund
Goldman Sachs Alternatives has announced the final close of its flagship private equity fund, West Street Capital Partners IX, and related vehicles. The fund raised a total of $9.6 billion in capital from institutional and high net worth investors across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
The fund will continue to target control-oriented upper middle market investments in sectors such as services, financials, technology, healthcare, consumer, and energy transition. The team has already invested in several companies, including Schellman, Numantec, Excel Sports, and Mace.
Additionally, Goldman Sachs Alternatives is raising capital for its dedicated pan-Asia private equity strategy, West Street Asia Equity Partners I, which has raised over $1.6 billion to date. The team expects to target investments across the region in sectors such as control-oriented middle-market companies and select growth investments.
