Microsoft Researcher Behind Windows Exploits Revealed Amid Bitter Dispute
A former Microsoft security researcher, Abdelhamid Naceri, has come forward as Nightmare Eclipse, the anonymous figure behind months of Windows exploit disclosures.
Naceri claims he was fired from Microsoft just a few months before he could secure permanent EU residence in Germany, and that the dispute has cost him over $200,000. He is currently receiving psychiatric treatment for the personal toll of the dispute.
Naceri disclosed 14 previously unknown software flaws since April, including nine targeting Windows and Defender. His posts on X reveal a bitter and highly personal dispute with his former employer, Microsoft.
