Microsoft Unifies Tasks in Teams with New Unified App
Microsoft has finally started rolling out its unified Tasks app, which combines Planner and To-Do features in Teams. The new app is designed to provide a single place for users to see tasks from multiple sources.
The integration of Planner and To Do into Teams as the Tasks app marks significant progress in unifying tasks across different Microsoft tools and services.
Initially, the app will be called 'Tasks by Planner and To-Do', but it will eventually be renamed simply to 'Tasks'. The new app will include features such as a list view of all tasks from both Planner and To Do, smart lists, and the ability to filter and select multiple tasks at once.
However, it's worth noting that Planner and To Do have different features, and users will continue to see these differences in the Tasks app. For example, To Do allows users to star tasks for prioritization, while Planner includes features such as assigning tasks to colleagues and tracking progress.
