Microsoft Unveils Cheaper Surface PCs with Haptic Feedback Mice

Microsoft has released its new Surface PCs, including the second-generation Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch. The smaller Surface devices have dropped their prices by $350 compared to previous models, with the base model of the Surface Pro starting at $1,050.

The Surface Pro 12-inch features a 12-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2,196 x 1,464 and a pixel density of 220 PPI. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Plus chip, which offers improved graphics performance compared to the previous generation. The device also comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Surface Laptop 13-inch has a larger 3:2 aspect ratio screen and is built around the same Snapdragon X2 Plus chip as the Surface Pro. It starts at $1,050 and offers improved graphics performance compared to previous models.

Microsoft has also released its new Surface Mouse, which features a haptics-based design with left and right click buttons that register capacitive touch and release vibration as force feedback. The mouse is priced at $80 and comes with a special AI button that allows users to interact with Microsoft Copilot in the recently consolidated app.
