Microsoft Upgrades Surface Devices with Snapdragon X2 Plus Chip

Microsoft and Qualcomm have announced an upgrade to their Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch devices, featuring the Snapdragon X2 Plus chip. This new chip offers a 60% graphics boost, 95% faster on-device AI, and 18% more efficient battery performance compared to last year's models.

The Surface Pro 12-inch now boasts a 25% brighter 500 nit PixelSense touchscreen, and the Snapdragon X2 Plus chip makes editing photos and annotating designs feel more snappy. The company also claims that office workloads are 17% faster with the new X2 Plus.

Microsoft is also introducing a new AI feature called Ink Canvas, which allows users to sketch, annotate, and generate images with the Slim Pen. This feature is pre-installed on the Surface Pro 12 and will be available for download on other supported devices starting October 13th.

The Surface Laptop 13-inch also gets an upgrade with the Snapdragon X2 Plus chip, offering a smoother overall experience and a 25% brighter screen. The new devices are set to release on October 13th, starting at $1,150 for the Surface Pro 12-inch and $1,200 for the Surface Laptop 13-inch.
