Microsoft's AI Security Lapses Exposed in Government Email Hack
A Cyber Safety Review Board has released a report detailing lapses by Microsoft that led to a targeted Chinese hack last year of top U.S. government officials' email, including that of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
The board was created in 2021 by executive order and is led by Homeland Security.
According to the report, Microsoft's AI-powered technology failed to detect a sophisticated attack on the email system used by top U.S. government officials.
