Microsoft's Latest Security Update Causes VPN Connection Issues

Microsoft has issued a warning that its recent Windows 11 security updates have caused issues with Always On VPN connections. The company acknowledged the problem and is investigating the cause.

Always On VPN is commonly used in enterprise scenarios, and a connection failure could have significant consequences for organizations using this solution.

The issue affects Windows 11 version 26H1, 25H2, and 24H2. Microsoft provided a workaround by changing the Always On VPN profile from automatic protocol selection to a single protocol, either SSTP only or IKEv2 only.
