Microsoft's New Outlook Gets Automatic Spell Check Before Sending Emails
Microsoft is introducing an automatic spell check feature in its New Outlook email client. The new feature, set to roll out in October 2026, will prevent users from sending emails with typos and grammar mistakes before they are sent. This comes after Microsoft realized that many people often send emails with errors because they forget to proofread at the last minute.
The automatic spell check is powered by Microsoft Editor, which already provides real-time spelling and grammar suggestions as users type in Outlook. However, this new feature takes it a step further by stopping the user from sending an email until any detected errors are corrected.
Outlook Classic will not receive this new feature, but it will get some Copilot enhancements instead. The User Initiated Insights feature will allow users to trigger Copilot only when needed, providing contextual insights based on selected text.
