Microsoft's Ongoing Microsoft 365 Outage Continues to Cause Disruptions
Microsoft's efforts to resolve a multi-day outage affecting Microsoft 365 services have been ongoing for nearly two days. The issues, which began impacting users on Monday, affected various services including Outlook email, SharePoint, Copilot, Teams, and Universal Print.
The company attributed the problem to an issue with a 'core authentication configuration used by multiple Microsoft 365 services.' According to its status page, other services impacted included Purview and Defender XDR.
On Monday evening, Microsoft reported that it had made significant progress in addressing the issue but still hadn't fully resolved the problems. The company stated that 'indications from telemetry remain positive' and service availability is improving.
Microsoft's latest update on Tuesday morning said that it was entering a period of extended monitoring to ensure a full resolution. Although some users are likely seeing improvements, the company has not yet confirmed its services have returned to normal.
