Microsoft's Windows 11 Update Brings Movable Taskbar and Customization Options
Microsoft has released its latest Windows 11 update, version 26H2, which brings long-awaited features to devices that were previously left behind due to a staggered rollout. The update fixes issues and enables enhancements for PCs running versions 24H2 and 25H2.
The most notable changes include the movable taskbar, allowing users to place it on any edge of the screen, and the option to turn off Bing search results in the Start menu. Windows 11 also receives more customization options for the taskbar and Start menu, a quieter Widgets experience, and fewer Copilot buttons throughout the OS.
The update is available for eligible devices, but Microsoft's controlled feature rollout process means it may take weeks or even months to appear on some PCs. To check for the update, users can head to Settings > Windows Update, or force it by clicking 'Get the latest updates as soon as they're available.'
