Midcap Stocks Take a Beating as Indian Market Selloff Continues

The Indian stock market experienced a sharp sell-off on Monday, September 28, with the benchmark Sensex plummeting by 1,124 points to close at 72,771.

Among the affected stocks were eight midcap companies from the BSE 150 Midcap Index that hit their lowest price levels in the past year.

The stocks that touched fresh 52-week lows include Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (PGHH), Havells India, Bharti Hexacom, REC, SJVN, ACC, General Insurance Corporation of India, and UPL.

Among these, PGHH fell by about 15% in the last month to its current market price of Rs 6912, while Havells India declined by around 11% to its current market price of Rs 1091.
