MIT Alum Co-Founder of Synthesis Capital Talks Venture Capital and Innovation

Robert Wickham, a MIT Sloan alumnus from the class of '93 and '95, is a seasoned entrepreneur with over three decades of experience in technology, startups, venture capital, global go-to-market strategies, and corporate leadership. He co-founded Synthesis Capital, a specialist venture capital firm that supports early-stage health technology companies across Australia and Asia-Pacific.

Wickham's extensive background includes serving as the General Manager for Tableau Asia-Pacific at Salesforce, where he also held senior regional leadership roles such as APAC Chief of Staff and Head of Platform and Emerging Technology. During his tenure, he helped launch a $50 million Australian venture fund to support local enterprise technology startups.

In addition to his work with Synthesis Capital and Salesforce, Wickham has been involved in various other ventures. He was part of the founding team for two startups that achieved successful exits: Go, a low-cost airline sold to easyJet, and Empirix Web Test Unit, which Oracle acquired. He began his career at the Boston Consulting Group.
