MIT, IBM Launch Joint AI Research Lab in Bengaluru

The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) in Bengaluru has launched an AI Lab in collaboration with IBM. The lab, which houses a High-Performance Computing facility, is designed to democratize access to Artificial Intelligence and provide advanced research infrastructure to students, researchers, and institutions across India.

The AI Lab will support cutting-edge research in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, computer vision, natural language processing, cybersecurity, healthcare, intelligent systems, and data analytics. It can simultaneously handle 30 high-performance computing workloads and provide faculty members, researchers, innovators, and students with world-class computational resources to develop next-generation AI solutions.

The lab also aims to bridge academia and industry by supporting industry-sponsored projects, interdisciplinary research, faculty development programs, student innovation, hackathons, internships, startup incubation, and collaborative technology development. The initiative will create an ecosystem where ideas can rapidly evolve into impactful solutions.
