Monstropolis Expansion Takes Shape at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Monstropolis area at Disney's Hollywood Studios is continuing to take shape as new photos from inside the park show construction progressing on various buildings. Scaffolding remains up on multiple structures, including the public restrooms building, where new brickwork and archway detailing are visible beneath the platforms.

At the Glob Theater, the clock tower and rear of the building remain visible above the perimeter walls, with scaffolding still present on the roofline to the left. This theater will house a new show called 'Welcome to Monstropolis,' hosted by Mike and Sulley, featuring an original song written by Disney Legend Randy Newman.

The quick service restaurant building, Archie's Scare Pig Pizza, shows scaffolding covering a long stretch of the roofline, with archway openings visible at ground level beneath the platforms. Harryhausen's restaurant, meanwhile, has extensive scaffolding across its building, with workers visible on the upper platforms as exterior work continues.

The full Monstropolis expansion is set to include the flying door coaster, the Glob Theater, Harryhausen's Restaurant, Archie's Scare Pig Pizza, the Monsters University Alumni Club, and the Scareporium retail shop. Disney has confirmed that parts of Monstropolis will open to guests in 2027 while construction continues on the flying door coaster.
