Montenegro Ends Visa-Free Travel for Turkish Citizens Amid EU Alignment
Montenegro is ending its visa-free travel arrangement with Turkey on November 1, 2026. This change aligns Montenegro's visa policy with that of the European Union, which it has been negotiating to join since opening accession talks in 2012.
The new requirement applies not only to Turkish citizens but also to those from Belarus, China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. These countries are non-EU nations seeking membership and typically must match the bloc's external visa list.
Under the current arrangement, Turkish citizens can enter Montenegro without a visa and stay for up to 30 days.
