Google's John Mueller has once again spoken out against programmatic SEO, stating that it can often lead to sites being labeled as spam or low quality. In a recent post on Bluesky, Mueller explained that programmatic SEO involves generating multiple pages with varying combinations of domain names, technologies, and attributes, which can result in a large number of pages with some value but little overall usefulness.

According to Mueller, this approach often leads to Google's systems losing faith in the site's ability to provide good value to users. He noted that once Google loses trust, it can take significant effort and time to regain it and start ranking again.

Mueller emphasized that providing real value to users is crucial for a website's success, and that simply generating multiple pages with some content is not enough. He advised site owners to focus on creating high-quality content that provides unique value to users rather than relying on programmatic SEO tactics.
