NASA Revives Boeing Starliner Amid SpaceX's Crew Dragon Exit
NASA has decided to reinvest in the Boeing Starliner spacecraft after SpaceX announced its plan to sunset its crew Dragon spacecraft flights.
The decision was made by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, who stated that given their extensive history with Starliner and the taxpayer investment already made, it represents the fastest path to preserving reliable crewed access to low-Earth orbit.
The agency believes that reviving Starliner will provide a backup option for ferrying astronauts to the International Space Station, ensuring a continued presence in space despite SpaceX's plans to retire its Dragon spacecraft.
